my love for november.

November is such a special month in our family. November 17th we will celebrate Nick's 28th birthday. November 26th is Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday, and is also our 5 year wedding anniversary.  And November 27th will be Max's 1st birthday. So yeah, November is a pretty big month for our family. But especially this year.  I almost wish that Calvin was born in November so that all of boys and biggest life events could all be compiled to one month.

On Sunday morning when I woke up I could tell it was fall. And I am not saying that just because the time change happened and my boys were up a little earlier than usual or because I caught the nasty cold my boys had. But November has a crispness about it. It smells different. Looks different. Hey, it even rained in San Diego.

Nick and I loved having our wedding in November because we were able to celebrate in so many special ways with our family in friends. Since our wedding fell on black friday we were able to sort of have a wedding week of celebrations since many people had Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. We had our rehearsal dinner, a huge Thanksgiving celebration, our actual wedding, and then our honeymoon. All in one week.  It was a once in a lifetime thing to have so many loved ones near us to celebrate such a special time in our lives.

In a few weeks I will eat my weight in turkey and gravy, watch my baby boy take a few steps, and will have 5 years of marriage under my belt. I will always be thankful for November.

Does your family have a month full of birthdays or celebrations? What is your favorite time of the year?
