10 Reflections on our Vacation to Stagecoach

1.  A vacation away with Nick without the kiddos is exactly what the doctor ordered ;). We stopped at Boot Barn, Chick-fil-A, and Coffee Bean before heading out for the weekend, so I knew right off the bat we were in store for a great weekend!

2. Luke Bryan can shake it!!! He is our favorite country artist and we were excited to see him again since he was really sick at the last concert we went to with him headlining.

3. People-watching is beyond entertaining. I was the most dressed female at the festival and was amazed at a). how beautiful everyone was and b). how little clothing people wear, even when it gets cold.

4. Breakfast complete with candied bacon, mimosas, homemade jam, and the husband is AMAZING. I have never been a breakfast girl, but I might convert after that french cuisine we ate. It was refreshing to eat and converse with Nick after church on Sunday and for once I didn't devour my meal in 5 seconds flat.

5. SNOOP DOGG performed at Stagecoach. My Dad has an eclectic taste in music and as kids he would play Snoop Dogg for us, so interestingly enough I was raised on his albums. Sam Hunt performed and said he had two surprises for us. All of a sudden the stage went black and all you heard was "Snooooooooooooooopppppppppppppp", we were freaking out just a little ;). Oddly enough, it may have been one of my favorite parts of our whole vacation.

6. Nick won our tickets by listening to KSON. Despite not having to pay for admission this was still a costly trip for a staycation, but it was worth every penny. Nick listens to me and knows what I do and do not like. Thankfully, he made sure the trip was complete with shuttle service, good food, good drink, good company, and good music ;).

7. I am beyond thankful we do not have a little girl yet. Like I said earlier, I was the most dressed girl there my age. Everyday all I could think about was, "What if I had a daughter and she wanted to go to Stagecoach!?" And how Nick and I would have to secretly go and make sure she was dressed, safe, and all the crazy boys were far far away. We often discussed how we would go about keeping an imaginary daughter safe but also allow some freedom. At the end of the day though all we could say was "Thank god we have boys!" All of my girl moms out there, I give you a lot of credit because I am always a nervous wreck.

8. Carrie Underwood needs an award for Fastest Mom Ever to Bounce Back from Having a Baby. Holy cow! Not only can she sing like a powerhouse but she is beautiful and her body was stunning. I know she is famous and has the best trainers around but I was still stunned.

9. Every mom blogger I follow seemed to be on the baby-free vacation wagon this weekend. I was scrolling through my blog feed and saw countless moms I follow all going out of town just like we were. It was encouraging to me to see that other moms leave their kids too sometimes to reconnect with their spouse and to do something for their marriage. We are always content spending time together at home or going on date nights locally, but there is something magical about getting out of town and doing something out of the norm every once in a while.

10. Mom life and reality came back in full force when we came home to Calvin covered full blown in hives. As soon as we parked the car, Nick was back on the road again to drive Calvin to the pediatricians office only to find out that he is allergic to some antibiotics he was on. He sadly says it hurts to walk but I am thankful I am home to take care of him now.

Stagecoach was memorable, loud, and adventure-filled.

Performers we loved in order: Luke Bryan, The Band Perry, Eric Church, Snoop Dogg, Sam Hunt, Chris Stapleton (Nick puts him up ahead of The Band Perry, second to Luke Bryan), Little Big Town, and Dustin Lynch.

Who is your favorite artist? Do you and your spouse like the same style of music? What type of weekend adventures have you done together after having kids?
